About IPSA

IPSA August Meeting

On May 23, 2001, a group of nine people met for lunch at Little Professor Book Store in Homewood, Alabama. Several of those present had been talking with other web professionals and web enthusiasts about the need to regularly meet and share ideas, learn from each other, and promote our profession. We decided to investigate forming a chapter of an existing organization or forming our own group.

We met again in June, 2001, and organized a board of directors for the new organization we proposed to call the Internet Professionals Society of Alabama (IPSA). In August we approved our bylaws, and by November, we had filed our non-profit papers and we started accepting membership applications.

We have hosted informative programs every month since October 2001. Past program topics include Web Project Management, Windows XP, XML and Vector Graphics.

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in ideas, issues and technology shaping the future of the Internet.
